Too many people in one place.

If there's one lesson from History

that deserves to be chiseled in granite,

it's our awareness of where said situation leads.

No Human likes to feel crowded.

That's a fact.

We can all identify with this common sensation.

Now

This empowers us to use our realization

of this newfound commonality,

and GET OVER IT!

That's where we stand.

We've overprocreated ourselves into this mess.

Even with all of our so-called superior intellect,

the most basic urge rules our fate.

Plus...take a look at this pic of Earth.

Think about where the lights aren't.

Six Billion, plus, of us...all where the lights are.

The newly developing notion of this planet

as an all nurturing blue ball, is greatly overblown.

The places with no lights

are as inhospitable

as some extraterrestrial bodies.

I'm guessing 15% of Earth's surface appears habitable.

Maybe half of that without permanent shelter.

Our newly overwhelming sense of overcrowdedness

is at the root of today's biggest issues.

Expansion is disappearing from the collective psyche.

It's what got us this far, and now seems futile.

We can't make a go of it here,

and there's no reason to believe we're going anywhere else.

Eons of dreaming timeless, cosmic adventures,

and, yet, only a handful have ventured to the first rock.
